Embed
The free scan on your own site
A single snippet adds the free Metryn scan to a page you control. A visitor types a web address, the scan runs on Metryn's servers, and the same free result the scan page shows appears in place: score, counts and the top three findings. The full report stays on getmetryn.com.
It checks what a machine can fetch and read from outside. It does not predict rankings, citations or traffic.
The snippet
<div id="metryn-scan"></div>
<script src="https://getmetryn.com/embed/metryn-scan.js" async
data-metryn-target="#metryn-scan"
data-lang="en"
data-platform="wordpress"></script>data-metryn-target: CSS selector of the element to render into. Without it the widget is inserted right after the script tag.data-lang:en(default) orpt-PT.data-platform:wordpress,magento,wix,squarespace,webfloworshopify. Any other value becomesembed. It labels the scan itself and the links back to getmetryn.com, so we can count where visits come from. The server keeps only these labels from a listed origin and drops anything else.
It is plain JavaScript with no framework and no build step. Everything that comes back from the server is inserted as text, never as HTML. It sends only the address the visitor typed, the security token and that platform label (plus the fixed labels medium “widget” and campaign “embed”). It uses no cookies or storage, sends no credentials, and does not read anything else from your page.
What the widget does for visitors
- A visible label above the address field, and an input border that meets the 3:1 contrast guideline.
- English or Portuguese (PT-PT) text, including the verdict. Set
data-lang. - Progress and errors are announced in one status region. The finished result is not read out in one go: keyboard focus moves to its heading instead.
- The full report opens on getmetryn.com in a new tab. Payment and the private report link never happen inside your page.
Where to paste it
WordPress
In the block editor add a Custom HTML block and paste the snippet. In the classic editor use the Text tab. Set
data-platform="wordpress".Magento / Adobe Commerce
Content, then Blocks (or Pages). Edit the CMS block, open it in the plain HTML view (Show / Hide Editor) and paste the snippet. Page Builder: add an HTML Code element. Set
data-platform="magento".Wix
Add, then Embed Code, then Embed HTML. Choose Code and paste the snippet. Set
data-platform="wix".Squarespace
Add a Code block and paste the snippet. Code blocks need a plan that allows code injection. Set
data-platform="squarespace".Webflow
Add an Embed element from the Add panel and paste the snippet. Set
data-platform="webflow".
Some themes and security plugins strip <script> tags from content blocks. If the box does not appear, that is the usual cause.
Getting your domain listed
Browsers only let the snippet talk to Metryn from origins we have listed by hand, and the security check has to be told your hostname as well. There is no self-service sign-up and no account. Email us the exact origin, for example https://www.yourshop.com, and we add it to both lists. Until then the widget shows a link that runs the scan on getmetryn.com instead.

Limits
- 10 scans per hour per visitor IP address and 3 per hour per scanned domain, the same as on the main site. Details on the API page.
- The Cloudflare Turnstile check is required, so a visitor sees a short challenge box.
- Most scans finish within a minute, and a busy moment can take longer. The widget gives up after two minutes and shows a link that runs the scan on getmetryn.com with the address the visitor typed.
- No service level agreement. The endpoints can change; we update this page when they do.
- The scan reads raw HTML and does not run JavaScript, so single-page apps can score lower than they read to a person.
